COERR Mae Hong Son and Kanchanaburi Organized Disaster Risk Reduction Training
to Youth Volunteer and Community

   COERR Mae Hong Son organized disaster risk reduction (DRR)Training to youth in Ban Mae Surin temporary shelter, Khun Yuam District, Mae Hong Son Province on March 24, 2023. There were 34 youth of 19 males and 15 females attended. There was also a training for Emergency Relief Committee numbering 41 persons of 33 males and 8 females, on March 8, 2023.

   COERR Kanchanaburi organized DRR training in Ban Don Yang temporary shelter in Kanchanaburi Province on March 13, 15 and 28, 2023 for 26, 36 and 135 youth; and in Ban Tham Hin in Ratchaburi Province on 21, 22 and 23 March 2023 for 30, 38 and 154 participants, respectively.

   The contents were about disaster risk reduction focusing on fire prevention and flood emergency drill.

   The aim was to have community members, including youth to become aware of cause of fire and how to prevent fire, how to use tools and equipment to extinguish fire, to escape to safe areas, and learn about first aid, follow the safety measure.

   Additionally, for the rainy season, the water level is high so the trainees were taught to notice when the water become muddy it was necessary to escape to the higher land for safety from flash flood, etc.
